Rwandan Coffee in January Subscriptions

Rwandan Coffee in January Subscriptions

This month, we are sending out two incredible Rwandan coffees in subscriptions, because we want as many people as possible to experience just how fantastic these coffees are. Arguably, sending out some of the best washed coffee in Rwanda and a new Extended Fermentation method could be seen as extravagant. These are for Filter and One roast subscriptions.

I don’t know what January means to you, but coffee cheers me up when I pour my first filter coffee in the morning. It’s not every time that I brew that I think about the many hands that have gone into creating it. Selfishly, coffee is what lights my fire after walking a few miles (in the dark) at this time of year, before considering going to work. Are you the same?

In the journey of sourcing these, I learned a lot about people and their relationships with coffee. I am not relating to my gasping for caffeine at 7 am, but over the years, we shape our ideas around experience, and things are not always what they seem. A smallholder farmer who grows a bit of coffee for supplementary income may have more love for their cabbages than their coffee. Coffee might just represent a bit of cash, but not a living as such. If you consider the relatively small amount of money green coffee demands and the sheer amount of work that goes into producing it, it’s a little short of amazing that it exists at all.

The picture above is of some great people I met when travelling to Rwanda. Gaston, Leatitia, Pappy, Dave Burton, Sidney and Dom Pullen. You might think I am the oldest guy in the picture.

Subscriptions are a fantastic way to regularly receive amazing coffees. From as little as one 250g bag of beans a month, you can have access to some incredible coffees. You may remember the slogan about a dog is for life, not just for Christmas? Maybe we should shuffle this a little and just aim to have simply delicious coffee all year. There is still time to join and to grab the extraordinary pair of coffees, with Rwandan Coffee in January Subscriptions.

If you have already to our subscription services, what are you enjoying? What are we getting right, and what else would you like to experience?
