Aeropress Filters

From Price range: £8.00 through £17.00

There isn’t a lot to say here! Two options of filters for your Aeropress:

  • The original paper Micro-Filters, Biodegradable & Compostable. In a pack of 350, enough for almost a whole years brewing! The micro sized holes catch the finest of coffee grounds, and absorb a lot of the oils giving a bright, clean brew.

  • Stainless Steel Re-usable filter. Just rinse and dry with your Aeropress. The fine holes catch the coffee grounds but allow the oils through for a fuller bodied brew.

Both of these will fit the Original Aeropress and Aeropress Go.

Brewing and Recipes

My basic method for brewing with Aeropress:

Assemble your AeroPress in the inverted position – (place the plunger into the neck of the brew chamber and flip it upside down).

Add 13g of medium-fine ground coffee (slightly finer than table salt).

Start your timer. Add 60g of water and give it a gentle stir to saturate. Let it bloom for 30 seconds.

Add the remaining 160g of water, bringing you to 200g total. Stir again gently.

Attach the cap with the filter. Let the coffee steep for a total of 1:45.

Carefully Flip the AeroPress over onto your mug or server. Press slowly — 20 to 30 seconds. Stop when you hear the hiss.

Enjoy – Taste first before adjusting. You’re looking for clarity, sweetness, and a soft, balanced finish. If it’s tasting sharp, try a slightly coarser grind or shorter brew. Too flat? Try hotter water or finer grind.

If you are brewing with the stainless steel filter it is worth remembering that the water will flow through more more freely than with a paper filter. I would recommend shaking the coffee bed level before pouring water and once the water is poured, inserting the plunger and pulling it back up slightly to create a vacuum to slow the water flow until you are ready to press it fully. Or brew it in the inverted position.
