Decaffeinated Guatemalan Blend Filter Roast

Caramel, Ripe Green Grape
From Price range: £9.65 through £32.00

Another Decaf? Oh yes, and we have a stream of new and exciting ones on the way in. This is another clean, delicious, easy-drinking coffee that also happens to be decaffeinated, and this time it happens to be well-sourced, as well as high-grown and from 3 growing regions of Guatemala.

You will have to forgive our understated, uncatchy name for this coffee. We are not about to shout about the 4% of Geisha, it’s not really us, or probably why you’re here.

Origin & Background

This coffee has been sourced through Coffee Bird, who are from a multi-generational coffee-producing family. The Dalton family still own Finca Filidelfia, based in Antigua. One of the unique things about Coffee Bird is that they have stayed true to their mission of sharing and promoting coffees of Guatemala.  They have many long-term fellow producer relationships that evolve from that dynasty.

Brewing and Recipes

In a cupping bowl:

Aromatics: Sugars and grain.

Body: Etheral/Light

Acidity: Ripe green grape

On opening, this is soft and sweet, like caramel and surprisingly clean. I terms of fruit, I am thinking fresh, ripe green grapes, with the slightest linger on the finish. We are talking (tasting) suave and sophisticated EA decaffeinated coffee that would pass 99.9% in a placebo.

On cooling, this is champagne-like in the combination of fruit and subtle drying finish.

If you are that odd one (like me) who tastes coffee all of the way down to cold, you may also get cocoa and brown sugar.
