Brazil Fazenda Barrinha
Brazil Fazenda Barrinha Filter Roast
Every time that we have to top up between deliveries from Brazil, I feel that I have let the side down, somewhat. It turns out that there is still very okay coffee outside of our handful of producers. It also turns out that a lot of people know each other in the local coffee world, which gets quite funny.
I am not sure how it works, but in Brazil, generally, there is a can-do attitude to life and business! This might be to do with the incredible mineral resource, space, and affordability of almost everything. Brazil would be a paradise if it wasn’t for the politics, not so different from here then?

In Filter:
Big, sweet white fruity acidity, upfront, backed up by dark chocolate and cocoa. Unusually sweet acidity, still mingling with that chocolatey element. On cooling the fruit fades a little and there are some toasted grain and sugarcane notes. The fruit softens until the liquor approaches ambient and then there are lots of ripe boozy fruit sugars.
Farm Info
Fazenda Barrinha is a diverse farm, that is 3rd generation in coffee farming (with the Costa Family). The youngest son is a national horse-riding champion and the father Armondo has been producing and exporting coffee for over 35 years and is still fascinated by the dynamics of the industry and learning about how it works in other countries. Barrinha also grows large amounts of lavender too.
30% of Fazenda Barrinha has been set aside for nature, where wildlife can thrive.
